Honesty

Other companies may try to sell you a Ford Powerstroke remanufactured engine by offering you a better price or try to make more money off you by giving you a warranty that sounds too good to be true.  As a result, you could end up getting a substandard engine or even get shafted when you need some help.  Don’t be fooled by these sales pitches.  Anybody can build one cheaper by re-using pistons or other internal parts that you can’t see and a longer warranty can easily be denied when you need it.

Asheville Engine builds our engines with new parts and we give you an honest 12 month/ unlimited mile warranty.  The only thing better than our engines is our reputation.

My 2006 King Ranch has about 175000 miles. It has been studded with ARP studs. It has had the EGR deleted. recently I experienced the engine running poorly. A local diesel Shop installed new motor craft fuel injectors. The truck ran as before very well. A few days went by and I started to lose power. The local diesel shop said the turbo was bad and they installed a remanufactured one. All was good again. I have only driven the truck about 500 miles since the new fuel injectors,
followed by the turbo replacement. I start the truck and put it in the garage for the evening. the next morning the truck wouldn’t start. I had it towed to the diesel shop. they find the low pressure oil pump is rose up. upon close inspection I find metal fragments are wedged in the pumps main vein, The diesel shop speculates that the valve lifters have failed.with this unhappy news I pull the motor out and installed a used motor T he motor I removed has had a pile of money spent on it and I didn’t want to lose that investment. This brings me to you for a solution.could I have you go thru my motor and freshen it up. I just don’t think the local diesel shop has enough experience to go thru the motor and honestly expect it to run thousands of trouble free miles. Your reputation and experience with the 6.0 power stroke engine gives me confidence. I need from you a turnaround time and a price. Thanks George Eisenhart Grumpyg@windstream.net

George, thanks for contacting us. Your engine failure is a pretty common failure in the 6.0 Powerstrokes and one that a competent diesel shop should have been able to easily diagnose without throwing new parts at it. Because of the failure and the mileage, your engine needs more than a “freshening up.” You need a re manufactured long block. Go to our web site, Click on the 6.0 and you’ll get a drop down list with boxes to check. A basic studded long block is $4,995.00 and we have a list of available upgrades with descriptions and prices in the drop down list. You can check what you want, the web site will total the price and you can actually add it to your cart and pay online as long as you know what you want. If you have questions, please feel free to give us a call on Monday. http://www.AshevilleEngine.com

William, Many smaller engine builders with competitive pricing make a habit out of surprising their customers by keeping their entire core deposit it the engine block or a head isn’t usable. In order to keep our prices as low as we do, we need to be able to start with a good core with all of the major components (block, crank, cam and cylinder heads) in build-able condition. When a core comes in with bad parts, we have to buy those parts from a salvage yard or core supplier. As an example, rather than keep your whole core charge because one head was bad like many places do, we would deduct $300. if a head was cracked and unusable.
About 70% of our customers receive a full refund of their core deposit and only about 1 or 2 customers out of 100 have a core that is so bad thart we simply have to replace the entire thing. In any event, customers always get back at least $300.00 because part of our core charge covers returning the shipping crate that we sent the engine in. We have had about 80 people in the past 3 years who did not receive anything because they never sent their core engine back, even though we set up the shipping and pay for the core return. I hope this helps clarify it for you.
