Properly remanufactured with new parts. All 6.0 Long Blocks come standard with ARP head studs.

This is a FULLY RE-FUNDABLE charge as long as your returned core has not had significant damage beyond repair and is not missing parts. (Broken or missing parts will be deducted. Must be returned within 60 days.) FREE SHIPPING on core return if paid in full at the time you place the order.

Early 2003 – Production date 9/29/03 and earlier

Engine has the round injector oil rails with the braided lines to it and the stand pipes are threaded at the bottom

Late 2003- Production date 10/03 through 2004 Model Year

Engine has wide/web style injector oil rails with push in stand pipes and the dogleg style branch tube to connect to the HPOP

2005 through 2010 Model years

Webbed style injector oil rails, branch tube with rectangular block in center and the latest style HPOP.

Ford used 2 different style of Branch Tubes on the 2005 Excursions. We will contact you to find out which one you need if you click this box.

Stage 2 Camshaft

#1 most recommended upgrade by our customers who have purchased one.
Manufactured to our own specifications, an Asheville Engine stage 2 camshaft provides a smoother transition and less stress for the valves, spools the turbo quicker, drops the EGT’s, adds approximately 45 HP and can provide better fuel mileage.


A larger cylinder bore allows more air into the cylinder resulting in more fuel being burned. A larger bore provides up to 10% more horsepower and torque and usually results in better fuel mileage. Most customers report an increase of 2 to 4 miles per gallon.


PolyDyn HS ceramic piston coating protects and insulates to maintain structural integrity and to reduce potential engine failure. The HS’s extreme heat insulating polymers reduce heat saturation into the piston, which maintains more heat in the combustion chamber. This allows more fuel and less timing, thus building more power.

PolyDyn DL is specifically designed to permeate the bearing surface, increasing oil retention to protect against intense heat and extreme pressure. This dramatically reduces bearing wear and flaking, and adds an extra level of lubricant to the bearing. This also protects the bearing from heat build up and excessive wear.

The choice of brand is up to you but we recommend Wagler because we don’t have to clearance the block for installation. Billet connecting rods are recommended for applications in which you plan to build an engine capable of exceeding 650 horsepower.


Probably the most well-known brand of billet connecting rods. Billet connecting rods are recommended in high horsepower applications over 650 horsepower.


These heads also have a special valve cut which allows up to 30% more airflow. O-ringed heads allow for a better head-to-block combustion seal helping to avoid the problem of blown head gaskets. (Long block only)


Includes a high rev valve spring set with retainers and thick walled heavy duty Chromoly push rods. For use in high rev applications up to 5,000 RPMs. When matched with the Asheville Engine Stage 2 Camshaft you can expect a smooth power curve. (Long block only)

ARP CUSTOM AGE 625+ HEAD STUDS (Upgrade to Long block)

All Custom Age 625+ studs are centerless ground, heat treated prior to thread rolling and machining, and are nominally rated at 270,000 psi. These fasteners deliver a 40% increase in tensile strength over the OEM Torque to Yield (TTY) head bolts.

Balanced rotating assembly

We offer this option as an upgrade for those people who want a perfectly balanced engine. If you don’t understand the “balancing” and would like to learn why you might, or might not want it done, scroll to the bottom of this page and click on our blog “Balancing a Powerstroke diesel engine”.
Keep in mind that we own a $35,000 balancing machine and we make money balancing an engine but we will not lie to you to tell you that it is necessary. If we were building a Nascar engine that runs at 9,800 RPM, we would tell you that it has to be done.
The choice is yours but in most cases, anybody who says it has to be done is just trying to get your money.


Short Block – Properly machined engine block with balanced crankshaft, connecting rods and pistons.  Remanufactured to the same specifications as a brand new engine using brand new parts, including Mahle/Clevite pistons with rings, main bearings, rod bearings, cam bearings, and lifters.     * Please make sure that you added the $600. core charge

Long Block – Same as above including properly machined cylinder heads with the correct injector clamps, rocker boxes and complete valve train including updated pushrods.  Every 6.0 Long block is assembled with ARP Head Studs.    * Please make sure that you added the $1,000. core charge

We do not included manifolds, fuel system components, oil pan, covers or any electrical components with our 6.0 Powerstroke engines.
