Asheville Engine, Inc. has a well known reputation for building reliable, long lasting Ford Powerstroke diesel engines. In 2023, our machine shop relocated to another building that has twice the amount of room for both inventory and for production. Because of the growth and expansion, Asheville Engine has added LBZ, LMM and LML Duramax engines to our line up.

New for 2024

Our shop has always built Duramax engines for local diesel shops. At the request of the diesel shops all over the country who have been installing our Powerstroke engines for years, Asheville Engine has started remanufacturing Duramax long blocks and promoting them for sale nationwide. With over 600 diesel shops in every state who’ve been installing our engines for years, there is already a demand for an Asheville Engine Duramax!

We build Duramax engines right!

It seems that the modern diesel industry has been practicing “planned obsolescence”. Every manufacturer seems to be building engines with failure points built into them. Why would they do this? It’s simple, they don’t want you to keep using the same truck on your farm, in your business or hauling your RV to the campground on weekends, forever. The days of the average diesel engine lasting 400k to 800k miles like your grandfathers enjoyed, is over.

Asheville engine does not agree with that line of thinking. All of the Duramax engines that we build get keyways added to the crankshaft and camshaft to prevent the gears from spinning. We also put the much stronger LB7 pistons in every LBZ, LMM, and LML long block that we build. Finally, we use ARP main bolts, ARP Rod bolts and ARP Head studs in every engine.
