Duramax 6.6L diesel engine. Built with the stronger LB7 pistons and properly remanufactured with new parts. Every Duramax long block that we build has a balanced crankshaft with keyways added to the crank to prevent the gears from spinning. We assemble every Duramax engine with ARP MAIN bolts, ROD bolts, and HEAD studs. Whether you want a basic, stock replacement or something that can handle more workload, our $7,655. Duramax 6.6L engine long block is built to handle from 360 to 397 (stock) horsepower, to over 700 HP without any major modifications.

Warranty options – 12, 24 or 36 months *

The 12 month Manufacturer’s parts warranty is warranted through Asheville Engine, Inc. and covers parts and labor to repair or replace the engine at our shop.
The Parts and Labor warranties cover parts and labor for warranty repair at any shop of your choosing. It is provided by North American Auto Care, the most highly rated aftermarket warranty company in the U.S.

Refundable core charge – Covers the engine core and the shipping container *

The core charge is refundable upon the return of the core engine and the shipping container. The replacement cost for any missing parts and any broken or damaged parts may be deducted from the core charge.

Break-in oil

DRIVEN DBR 15W-40 BREAK-IN OIL – 4 GALLONS.  This DIESEL SPECIFIC BREAK-IN OIL from Joe Gibbs Racing is recommended for use in our re-manufactured diesel engines.  Promotes proper surface mating during the critical break-in process and chemically assists with piston ring sealing in high-performance and turbocharged diesel engines.

O-ringed cylinder heads

O-RINGED CYLINDER HEADS allow for a better head-to-block combustion seal helping to avoid the potential of blown head gaskets.

Stage 1 Alternate Firing Order Camshaft

An Alternate Firing Order Crankshaft relieves stress on the front portion of the crankshaft. The factory firing is 1-2-7-8-4-5-6-3, but this camshaft design changes that to 1-5-6-3-4-2-7-8. Changing an engine’s firing order can help reduce part breakage in the Duramax application. Every Duramax LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM and LML has issues with crankshafts breaking just behind the snout back to the #3 journal, from mildly modified daily drivers to full-blown competition engines with aftermarket billet cranks.

We keep ALL PARTS IN STOCK, so there is no waiting for parts. Our normal lead time is ONLY THREE to FIVE DAYS.

Warranty

We offer a 12 month, unlimited mile Repair & Replacement Warranty on Duramax 6.6L diesel engines at no additional charge.  We also offer a more extensive Nationwide, Parts and Labor Warranty which covers the parts and labore at any shop that you choose to do the work, nationwide for 12-month, 24-month or 36-months on every Duramax 6.6L engine built in house. Prices vary depending upon length of Warranty.

What you get

Long Block -Every Duramax 6.6L diesel engine built has properly machined engine block and cylinder heads.  They are remanufactured with heavier duty LB7 pistons and brand new parts. Mahle/Clevite pistons with rings, main bearings, rod bearings, cam bearings, and lifters.  The cylinder heads have brand new valve guides, seals, valve springs. They come with a complete valve train including Chromoly pushrods.  Every Duramax Long block is assembled with ARP main & Rod bolts and ARP Head Studs.  Usually ships in 3 to 5 days.  

Core charge

* Please make sure that you add the $1,200. core deposit.  Deposit is for the Duramax 6.6L diesel engine core and the shipping crate.

We do not included manifolds, fuel system components, oil pan, covers, oil pump or any electrical components with our Duramax diesel long block.

*Asheville Engine, Inc. reserves the right to use different brands of comparable quality products in the assembly of our Duramax 6.6L diesel engines, when supply chain issues cause shortages of the brands that we normally use.

Shipping

* For reference, Shipping costs for engines are listed at the bottom of our PRODUCTS page. The cost is automatically calculated when you check out on our CART page.  The rates listed are for shipments to commercial addresses within business districts.  Residential shipping, shipments to rural areas or farms are charged more (Usually $200.00).  * Call for pricing on shipments to Alaska, Hawaii and International shipments.
